The Bogie Operator Forum aims to intensify cooperations and share special knowledge about bogies and bogies technology.

We want to increase the awareness that a bogie - though not always visible - is the most safety critical core system component of a train.

The bogie supports the car body and forms the vital contact where the wheels meet the rails. The track and the highly complex wheel/rail contact form the “input” for the behaviour of the train. The bogies are the interface between the infrastructure and the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

The bogie design has to meet a large variety of standards and regulations, most of which are covering safety and comfort aspects. A high degree of expertise and skills are necessary to build bogies that comply with these regulations and fulfil further operator requirements, such as:
